Love how he says, "Murder her!" Good un.
good un, indeed!
Yes. Another splendid episode. Well done to all of you. I think the voices and expressions are getting better and better. The writing is superb and it's great that the expressions are coming over to make that stand out. When I was in radio, I learned that you have to create the expression on your face for it to come out in your voice. That's certainly happening here.
Good interrogation! I'm telling you, every time I listen to an episode i get a big grin on my face. Love it!
It's showing up as an empty frame here. I'll try later.
This episode was a real treat. Well balanced script, acting and production. Plenty to savour and enjoy again.
Great episode, now I know why my grandfather said the radio shows from his youth were far better than anything television could produce.
Fantastic writing and performances. I felt as if I was among the players.
(1) I get the feeling Jim's mobile really wasn't vibrating.
(2) I'd almost expect one of their interrogations to get hung up over little things, like the exact time. Still, Jim managed to get the info from him, and in his own way, Joe helped. Good cop, bad cop here, but it wasn't a heavy-handed treatment of it. Impressive.
Thank you Charles and tut-tut. Good to see you.
Anne, I had no idea that you acted for radio. You must tell me more about it. And as you so rightfully say, the expressions must be there. It was wonderful observing Ian, Keith and Freddie. They totally got involved in playing their character. Brian usual jumps and skips when he reads his lines and Sorani is also a joy to watch when she does her part. And thank you for the compliment about the writing.
Thanks Jim. I can actually see the grin.
TomCat, I really hope you have better luck next time.
Thank you Jed. Coming from you this is a wonderful compliment.
Another great compliment Beach Bum. On the television (funnily enough) old radio shows are being broadcast. Some as far back as the fifties and David wont miss any of them. I often sit down with him and I have to agree with your grandfather here, so much better than what we have on TV nowadays. It is really nice to be compared with them. Thank you.
Oh, Jim's mobile is vibrating alright X. Dell. He still has not learned how to get a ringtone ... Poor Jim ... We must give him one soon.
The number of times I watch cop dramas where a suspect is interrogated and some character looks at his watch and says, when the recording machine is switched on, that it is such and such a time, I keep thinking, hello, what about all the other watches? So far I have never seen watches having the exact same time!
The idea of time arguments was born and I was finally able to use it.
Meant to add that Joe reminded me of an old Deputy Sheriff from my hometown that had been part of the local police for so long that his daily "workplace" was a seat in the diner on Main street.
He was such a local tradition that even though he couldn't do the job anymore no one wanted to retire him. So he spent his days, in uniform, at the diner "interrogating" the kids that came in. He was a kind and great guy.
The good old days eh Beach Bum? Wonderful story. Such a thing would not be allowed anymore.
My watch is atomic- good subtle use of voice to create tension.
Like the interplay of the accusation and Ed's voice. The word gov made me smile , made me think of certain cop shows on the tv.
Very good and getting better every episode.
Monique, I figured it out. A security utility was blocking 4shared. Love it!
Wonderful wonderful episode- thanks so very much to all of you for the smiles and the laughs ever since I first found you through Xdells blog!!!!
these last years have been trying for me (i am not a very strong person) and I always try to remember that others are in much worse shape- but what always keeps me "hanging on" is a great laugh and smile-so thanks so much for that!!
love and hugz to all of you!!
ps -I always enjoy the wonderful comments here too!!
Very well played: good cop, bad cop! Especially Ed-Boy plays very well, in my opinion! Thanks for visiting!
I forgot to tell you that I visited the other bench blogs! I always do that when my post is up.
Cop shows on TV gave me the idea of an argument about time Fizz. It was great to be able to use it. I'm glad that you enjoy the story and thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.
Really please that you were able to listen TomCat and even more pleased that you enjoyed it. It wont be long and the next episode will be posted. Another one with Ed-Boy.
Devin, thank you for this wonderful compliment. I will pass it on to all of the cast. I'm seeing Rowena soon and am going to ask her if she would like to write another episode that includes the past. She is a great writer and such a lovely lady too.
And I too enjoy all those comments. Without them, I think, I would have given up a long time ago. You guys keep me very happy and the happier I am the more ideas are forming in my head.
Thank you Reader Wil, I will tell Freddie. Keep an eye out for him as he is an up and coming young actor who is already pretty busy in the industry. You probably know that his sister plays Nickie in Silent Witness. They both are from a very artistic family and it is a privilege to know them both.
And I'm glad you visited that bench blog. It is great to see the variety of benches.
This episode makes me smile from start to finish. A good un, indeed! Some great comments to match as well. Great to see X. Dell here again.
Can't wait for the next one!
Very entertaining interview. Go Joe!
Happy Valentine's Day Monique!
Monique, thanks for the article/link on amputations and here you can see why I was interested:

very good acting!
the voices are very alive!
Thanks David, this episode makes me smile also. And, yes, great comments here. This is a great encouragement to keep on going.
BernardL, good to see you. Indeed, very entertaining but I doubt if such a thing would happen in a real police interviews. But who knows? You never know, do you?
Hey Ivan, I hope that you had a lovely Valentines day too. Mine was lovely, thank you.
Sarah, I will go and have a look at that address. It was very disturbing news indeed. And thank you for listening and commenting.
Ha! Beach Bum is right. In some ways this is more entertaining than watching TV.
I'm with Charles! The "Murder her!" line is absolutely priceless! The actors and the script are getting more and more impressive. I think you've all won the talent lottery!
I have been away from here for far too long. It will take a month of Sundays to catch up. I guess I had better get started!
Leigh, funny that you should say this because we are often listening to radio on (oddly enough) TV. Old shows are repeated and they are hilarious.
Rick, as always, you are too kind. I must admit it is not always easy to write a new episode. I might have the story, beginning, and ending but sometimes the muddle can be hard to find. And you know what I then usually do, don't you? I have a long and hot bath, with a glass of wine and a cat beside me.
C.J. long time no see. How lovely to see you again. I bet you thought this story had finished, but as you can see we are still hard at it.
Yes, you have quite a bit of catching up to do. A lot has happened since you were here last. Old members of the cast have gone and new members appeared. Story lines have finished whilst others have begun. One thing is for sure though. Even though Jim thinks he has solved the case of the missing Councillor Cassidy, Joe, his new sidekick, is not too sure. And Joe is like a terrier. What is between his teeth is hard to wrestle from him.
I like the expressions in the voices of this episode. I can really feel the emotions just through the voices. Well done..
Icy, Ian, Keith and Freddie are doing a great job here.
Thank you for visiting and commenting.
Nickie plays excellently! Tell me when Freddie is on TV, please!
So it's cold in England! Well we have the same kind of weather so.... We are looking forward to seeing the first signs of spring!
Hi Reader Wil, yes I too think Milly (as I know her) is fantastic as Nickie. Freddie should make his first full appearance in one of the new Miss Marple's. I'm not sure when but he plays a snake charmer He also appeared in Merlin and Robin Hood as a bit actor.
We really hope to get him one more time for MD. If he isn't too busy that is. But, he said, the scripts are good, better that some he has seen. Now how's that for a fantastic compliment?
Just know I think about you guys. Wish my hearing allowed me to understand the broadcasts. Darn.
I liked Jim and Joe really started to tick me off. Very good reading.
Thanks Pris, we are always thinking of you and don't worry, you can catch up when you are ready. This is what I like about blogs. You can return to any episode you want to listen to again. X
You are most welcome Judy. Great to see you here and great that you enjoyed the episode.
