Love it! Now that was right up my alley. We have the oldest fairs in America right here. I love livestock, poultry, vegetable, and flower judging, any and all of it. I have done it all being a farmer at heart and by vocation. Good one!
this one made me very hungry. Slow cooking. With wine. mymmm.
But I bet you never got drunk, ate all the ham and destroyed prize roses Jim. I'm sure that you were a good judge and didn't make a spectacle of yourself as Minton did. I wonder what Lady Annabel is going to do and why did Susan scream?
We will find out soon, I promise.
It made me hungry too Charles. Ham, wine, carrots, very nice too.
This is for Ricardo.
Thank you Ricardo for doing such a superb job on the script. You probably noticed the cuts and the few changes I have made. It still is a relative long episode though, and a great one.
Thank you again.
There's a lot to chew on in this episode. Minton is quite a slurper!! He can't get enough!! He appears to be celebrating something more than the village produce!!! Yes, all that food and drink make me hungry too!
'But I bet you never got drunk, ate all the ham and destroyed prize roses Jim.'
Drinking in moderation and a bit of bacon is good though.:)
Heh. Made me think of Petticoat Lane, in London when, I was there as a very young child.
Monique,
Thanks for the birthday greetings. So thoughtful.
I tried to get back to you on facebook but am password challenged...Couldn't get in.
Have a wonderful day, my friend.
Thanks for having me on for this. It was fun to write. You're the best.
Hi Monique!! :-)
ROFLMAO!!!!
this episode was excellent -so funny -the drunk Minton was wonderful!!!!
best to all of you and thanks also to Ricardo!!!!
can't wait for the next episode!!!!
I have to agree with Devin! The drunk Minton was my favorite in this episode.
(1) Just when we think Sir Randy can't make a bigger fool of himself....
A wonderfully boisterous episode. Monique, you and Ricardo made quite a writing team on this one.
(2) To be Frank, I now know why Susan's screaming.
Thank you Ricardo and Monique for writing this episode. It is really enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed Susan and Minton's performances this time. I don't think that Lady Annabel will forgive Minton that quickly. He will have to do some fence mending!!
Village Produce Show's can be highly competitive. Perhaps Minton's behaviour prevented a greater, underlying rivalry from coming to the surface?
Fantastic. We have had comparisons drawn before with your Middle Ditch and ny own Fekenham tales but this episode is a close as we get for madcap style. I enjoyed it very much. (Think I might shoot Ricado though as he is too close for comfort!)
:)
CJ, Feckenham Swarberry and Middle Ditch often remind me of each other, although I'm usually more keen to see the differences. Although they're both small towns in England's heartland, MD seems to have a more laid back, rustic feel. Both MD and FS feature sharply drawn characters, and deeper, more subtle ones (e.g., Ms. Pierce and the Rev. Elvis for the latter, and Susan or Ed Boy for the former).
Since I am a fan of both, perhaps I imagine an MD/FS crossover?
Thank you Jed. Yes, Brian gives a full performance as Minton. Slurping included. I think that he relished that part!!
Thekingpin, I am sure that Jim is the model of propriety, unlike Minton, when he is judging.
Many thanks for your comment Ivan. I am glad that this episode brought back memories for you. I am having a wonderful day so far!
Ricardo, the pleasure is all mine! Thank you!
Hi TomCat. Thank you for listening and leaving your message.
Always good to hear from you Devin. I am so pleased that you enjoyed this episode. Minton was wonderful, wasn't he. Ricardo did a good job too!!
Icy BC, I am so happy that you enjoyed the episode too! Thank you for commenting. It means so much to me.
X.Dell, I am sure that eventually Minton can find more depths to plumb. He can say some outrageous things at times. Frankly, Susan needed to scream!! Sue always plays well as Susan. Thank you Sue. You are a star!!!
Thank you David for commenting. Yes, I wonder if and how Minton will be able to get back into Lady Annabel's favour. Given the size of her mansion, I am sure that he will try!!
CJ, I am flattered by the comparison with your Fekenham tales. It is great that we are both active at the same time.
X.Dell is right that there are differences and the sharply drawn characters as well as the deeper, more subtle ones, do shine through in both.
Long may both continue!
lol .. hilarious episode. ricardo and you have made a good team on this one.
howard should have given "someone" that swift kick in the buttocks. he deserved it indeed! finally caught with the previous episode as well and left a comment there.
you and ricardo, i meant to say .. tsk ..
I do stop by when I can, Monique. :-(
Sorry I'm late, summer here is a bummer and keeping me very busy. Great episode!
Thank you X.Dell.
Foam, Ricardo did a great job. Randolph is getting out of hand in this episode. What will happen next between him and Lady Annabel is anybodies guess. And Ricardo and you is apt. It was Ricardo who wrote the script. I merely edited it a bit here and there.
TomCat I know. Stay in touch my friend. I will fly by your blog soon again to say hi.
Beach Bum I know how busy you are with your work and your family, so it's very much appreciated that you found the time to visit.
Thank you all very much for commenting.
Yeah, SCREW that juice bar and break out the wine, lol !
Thanks Heff, this is going down well
What a judge. I believe Minton added to his legend in this one but I doubt he knows how. :)
Bernard, I think that you are right about Minton!
He pretty much disgraced himself BernardL. Will Annabel ever forgive him?
