"My mobile is vibrating." hum. Love the delivery of the lines here.

Hi Monique, you have been very busy again. Are you going to publish all the episodes in a book?
That would be nice.
Thanks for your visit. Did you mean "Het Kabouter Kwartet" van Rien Poortvliet? I have several books by him. He was a great illustrator.

Seconding for the appearance of the Middleditch book.
Great episode, looking forwood to the dance, soon.

At least we can say that Joe has good taste in women.

With all the buzz about Emma's presumed death, I'm starting to fear we may never hear her voice again.

Anne Lyken-Garner said...

Ha, ha, ha. Ample jugs indeed! I love this line, 'I'm not a bird, I'm all woman.' It actually made me laugh out loud.

When he replied, 'Glad to hear' I just loved that mischeif in his voice. Great, great voice. Perfect for radio and voice overs, I think.

Another enjoyable episode.

Hi Monique, this was a laugh again, and a smile 'cause of the Harley shop. A small glitch (..) on the village where it's located, but who cares, only 8 kilometers on a bycicle :-D

Looking foreward to another episode! Let Anna's dad ride his bike safe!

Bboo said...

Oeps, sorry... I mean Libby ofcourse....

Poor Drake, Devin, what will happen when he expects to go to the dance with Anna, who was on the phone to Barbara answering her, whilst Drake sincerely thought she answered him. Oh well, I expect we will find out in due course.

Jim still doesn't know how to get a ringing tone Charles, even though I expect the Bishop, who promised to look into the matter some time ago, probably has shown him. Perhaps one day he will cotton on how to do it.

Middle Ditch said...

Reader Wil, the book idea is great and we are thinking about it. Indeed I was thinking of Rien Poortvliet. I saw his kabouter boek a long time ago and was greatly impressed with the illustrations and the stories. You say he was! Is he no longer with us?

Thanks for seconding the appearance of a book Fizz. We are also still keeping the idea of discs in mind. But it is all very time consuming with writing the episodes, editing the mistakes out, adding secondary lines and adding the sound effects and having a job! But all worthwhile considering. Oh and the dance! Poor Drake!!

Middle Ditch said...

Oh yes, X. Dell, Joe has a great taste in women. He loves them and Anna in particular. And so does Drake. What will happen on the day of the Forties dance is anybodies guess.

As for Emma? Well, even though she is not here, her story becomes more and more important and we (as you know) will hear much more about Emma and the reason why she has run away. I'm sure that one day, when everything is sorted, she will return to Middle Ditch.

Anne, I'm really pleased that you enjoyed this episode. Ian is a great asset to the cast and he and Keith are acting their roles so well.

I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to the cast of Middle Ditch. They give their precious time for free and some of them have to travel a great distance. Without their huge efforts, this blog could not have happened. So, perhaps, we could all give a big cheer to them all.

Middle Ditch said...

Bboo indeed. Who cares about this small glitch. Hattem was a name Janine could easily pronounce and I left it at that. And Dod? Well, he is an entire different story yet to come.

Thank you all for commenting. I love reading them. Without your comments I probably would have given up long ago. This makes it all so very worthwhile. Thanks!

I am sure that when Joe arrived in Middle Ditch he thought that he had found a place that time had forgot only to realise in the course of his journey that it was the perfect place for crims to hide. He surely didn't expect to see a woman like Anna in the local pub. Coming from Sarf London, as he does, he is beginning to have his eyes opened by these strange local people.

Middle Ditch said...

Indeed David. I'm not really surprised Jo is so suspicious of the going ons in this tiny village in the middle of the sticks.

The term 'bird' especially reminds me of 'On the Buses' and other British t.v. series shown over here in the 70s and 80s.

You know, you're so damned good at writing this, Monique, and the cast and director so marvelous, that I'm going to run out of adjectives to describe just how much fun I have listening!

I'm with Reader Will on this, a book would be terrific. Another great episode, perhaps my favourite yet - it was so funny in places. Looking forward to December's edition.

Finally got a chance at home to sit down and listen without interruptions. Anna better watch out no good ever came from going to a "seedy drinking den". My wife regrets me taking her such places even now. Great episode!

Middle Ditch said...

Thank you Richard. I am honoured. This is just so kind. I will be over to your blog soon.

I've heard of On the Buses thekingpin68, but I have never seen it though I have heard people talk about it. And to be honest, when in a pub, you can sometimes still hear blokes use that word, bird, when they talk about a woman.

Middle Ditch said...

Thank you Rick. Writing the episodes are fun. As long as I have an ending, preferably a cliffhanger, which is of the upmost importance for me, the rest follows quite easy. And, as I said before, the episodes could not be on without David who is such a good editor.

Well, Petty Witter, we are still talking about a book. We are also still talking about discs. Who knows what will come first. One more episode to come and then we shall have our Christmas special again. A humdinger of an episode written by Rowena Kitchen who plays Lady Annabel.

Middle Ditch said...

Anna is flattered Beach Bum. All that attention by this newcomer copper is a bit dizzying. Anyway, the seedy drinking den is still a long way away. Joe has to escort Anna to the Village Forties Dance first. Goodness knows what Drake is going to do when he finds out that it is not he who is taking Anna out. I feel really sorry for him. Don't you all?

jed said...

I wonder if Jim and Joe will become a double act like Holmes and Watson, Morse and Lewis, Dalziel and Pascoe? More likely Joe will slowly get sucked into village life whilst pining for Soho at dawn.

Chris Benjamin said...

Can't seem to get audio. I'll try back later.

BernardL said...

It appears Joe knows a bit more about wooing than previously thought. :)

Middle Ditch said...

Well Jed, we have to wait and see if they become a double act. For now, I think, Jim is having his hands full trying to keep Joe in Check. Joe is too full of himself and thinks that he can use the techniques he is used to in rough South London. As for getting sucked into village life? He has yet to learn all about living and working in the countryside.

Middle Ditch said...

Benji, I hope that when you come back you can follow the story.

BernardL, Joe may not know the word but he surely knows how to woo a woman. Anna is totally bowled over by this man. This can only end in tears. Or will it?

darkfoam said...

great episode! truly enjoyed it. i got a kick out of joe as well as the others. you all interact very well with each other.

Middle Ditch said...

Thanks Foam. Sorry for this very late reply. I was without internet connection for a couple of days. Stressful and worrying.

A book? That would be interesting. It's also very nice to listen to actors who are able to speak which is not the case when I work. LOL!

Middle Ditch said...

Still thinking about it Ricardo. Also thinking about terrestrial radio. Yes, our actors are very audible. I am for ever grateful for the time and effort they give us.

Thanks for your support.

Starfish Woman said...

Hi All - a most entertaining episode. Thank you and keep up the good work. 'Joe' sounds just like Alan Rickman! Hope you have a fabulous festive season. :-)

Middle Ditch said...

Hey Starfish Woman, welcome to Middle Ditch, quirky tales of village life. I will pass on the likeness to Ian, I'm sure that he will be chuffed. I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and thank you for visiting and leaving such a nice comment.

Felicity Grace Terry said...

It seems like such a long time since the last episode or is that just me? I'm with Anne Lyken-Garner on this - what a line, it had me in stitches. So what about about a book then? It would make such good reading.

Middle Ditch said...

Thanks Petty, we are pretty busy with the Christmas special. Plenty of hick-ups due to illness and technical problems, so the book idea, for now, is put on the shelf.

Unknown said...

A book or a sitcom would be wonderful. The voices are great as is the story line.

Middle Ditch said...

Hi Judy, thanks for visiting. Too busy with the Christmas special at the moment to think about a book. Hopefully we should post soon.
