I'm enjoying it. Gonna have to come back later this week to listen again.
Yes, I enjoyed this episode. Drake and Jim seem to be having fun helping to take Sarah's mind off her loss.
feeble minded people... that was great.
Monique and the rest of you guys I am impressed. I do not believe we have anything like that here. This is unique today and I hope it spreads!
Charles. I'm glad that you are enjoying this. Episode 19 is such a hard act to follow.
David, yes Drake and Jim are good friends to Sarah and Susan too.
AHB, I took this episode from another script meant for television and adapted it for radio. I'm pleased that it works.
Patriot, thanks for the compliment.
I too hope that this will spread. It's fun to write and it's fun to record. During rehearsal the cast is tremendous supportive.
After each recording session we go out for a meal and discuss future story lines and developing the serial. We are also planning to put episodes on disc and selling them, ploughing the money back into production, so if you are interested in buying, let me know.
The thing about this episode is that it is light enough to balance the intensity of the last one. This one's really funny, with good sight gags (Drake stuck in the experimental coffin, for starters), and some good banter. Way to go.
Monique
I'll be so glad when I'm up to reading the scripts for these again. You're so gifted and clever.
Once again, simply marvelous, and do tell us how to go about buying them when they're ready. You are so ready for prime time!
X Dell, I really was unsure about this one as 19 was so excellently acted but Jed, Keith, Helen and Sue are doing a great job.
Pris, keep reminding me about the scripts. I have so much on my mind, I keep forgetting.
Rick, it's only an idea so far but I will let you know when they are ready.
Thank you all for listening. It is very much appreciated.
I enjoyed this. Very well acted and put together.
SJ, thank you. I know that you have a lot of blogs to follow and to see you hear is much appreciated.
Ah another episode! I like it and I wish that there was a book about the whole story. You were talking about a script, are you going to publish the script?
Thanks for your visit!
Hey Reader Wil, that is an idea. Actually It's something I send Pris, but publishing the scripts is not at all a bad idea.
Thank you
Sj, I meant of course it's good to see you HERE. I'm a spelling Goof.
this episode had me giggling in parts ..
i'm morbid i guess .. :)
Hilarious. What a novel script. Like the bio-degradable coffin best....
Foam, thanks for giggling.
Julie, it's great to see you here again.
Thank you both for commenting
Once again, I'm at a customer doing technical environmental consulting, where I take gobbleygook legislative legalese and translate it into English. It gradually begins to erode my brain and that of my customers as well.
We therefore, took yet another break today and I turned on this episode to play it for all 10 folks to cheer them up.
They loved listening to this episode.
One of the folks even told me, "You know the most interesting people!"
Yeah, I do. Thanks, again, Monique, for letting us all be part of your extended family.
Rick, I don't know what to say. You are actually making me blush.
There are so many times that I doubt my writing and think it's c**p. It's people like you who give me the confidence to continue.
Once again, thank you for this wonderful comment and thank you for your continuous support.
I think this episode's the perfect followup, especially since Middle Ditch is a comedy, despite on and off-mike tragedy.
Thank you X Dell.
I am bemused, but here! Thank you for stopping by, so I could return the compliment.
This blog obviously has to be revisted to understand what is going on.
Hello Monique. Great episode! What made you decide to do a blog like this? Love it!
Lisa
Fire Byrd, thanks for visiting. Yes I recommend you begin from the beginning to follow the story.
Lisa, good to see you. What made me decide to begin a blog like this? An outlet for this story, really.
Thanks for your visit! I have been back in Holland since 25th of August, but still with one foot in Australia.
Reader Wil, I realize that. I do enjoy seeing all those photographs though.
is not my exhibition but i like it
;))
I love to listen the voices...learn
how do you pronounce words...
More i learn, more i speak with my friends...
thank you Monique.
Ruela, this could never be your exhibition ... You are such a lovely person and great artist.
Thank you for listening
Another fast compliment for you- this one even more serious than the rest. My own mother is dropping "Coronation Street" in favor of your blog.
Cool ... it keeps getting better.
Rick, I love Coronation Street. It's the only soap I follow. Tell your mom she must keep watching it but do thank her for listening.
Aggie, thanks for the compliment. It's not easy to keep a high standard.
ahh, gallows humour, nothing quite like it. i never thought of using coffin shopping for comedic effect, but listening to this it makes perfect sense.
Hi Benji, thanks for the compliment. Yes, it works well, doesn't it?
Probably my sense of humour but I found this hilarious. Very good.
You continue to entertain, though I do need to catch up on one or two back episodes.
I am happy that listeners are enjoying the humour of this episode.
We had an enjoyable weekend writing and editing new episodes.
It feels good to be moving forward.
Hey! You seem to have stumbled into my test blog! You're so kind for checking on me. Hope you've been well. I'm still mired with work, but that may be easing up. Thanks again for stopping by.
Fizz, thanks. It was a lot of fun writing this too.
Dabrah, you have been missed here.
David, yes the weekend was very productive and it is a joy to have Jeremy on Facebook.
Billy, I have been trying for ages to get in touch with you and finally found that blog. It's great to see you here.
Hope you enjoy your chillies , perhaps they may make an appearance on middle ditch.
;)
thank you.
HA! Not really the art experts are they? My mind was having fun thinking of how this must look.
Fizz, what a good idea. I'll keep it in mind.
Thank you Ruela.
Ricardo, the hardest part of writing this was to try to withhold as much information as possible until the very last moment when it becomes apparent where they actually are.
I bet, the mind wants to overwrite and add more than is needed in these situations. You have to resist and you did most splendidly.
Thanks for that Ricardo. It's a heartening read.
The other thing I'm trying to do, and hopefully succeed in this too, is that the listener has no idea what the next episode will be. To keep this as quirky as possible.
Ah, yes. It's the art of "saying nothing can be saying a lot." Dive into the silence and nuance! Use it to your advantage and tease, hint but leave them foaming at the mouth for more.
Exactly Ricardo.
Less is indeed more!
Also this script pushes the towards an extreme to reach its comedic effect.
It is also refreshingly odd!
I really enjoyed this one. I have finally caught up on the episodes and I just love this blog.
David and Tykobrie, thanks for the visit, listening and commenting. Those are very much appreciated.
I find refreshingly odd to be right up my alley. Those are usually the comedies I am drawn too. They are more memorable and while not for everyone, they hit targets that are not easy to hit if that make sense.
David's "refreshingly odd" could be the tag line for Middle Ditch.
Have you ever published or thought of publishing a release schedule so that we can order our lives around your show? It would be remniscent of my parents gathering round the television for Ed Sullivan.
Ricardo, refreshingly odd is a nice way to put it, isn't it?
I often listen to conversations or see something odd and then it is filed away in my brain. It can be years later that something occurs and the memory comes back as fresh as when it happened. It is then that I use it for an episode.
Rick, if I could I would. My aim is to post once every three weeks. I would love to post more often but I have to be careful. Not everyone is able to come for recordings on a certain date and often when one person can't make it, we have to re-schedule.
I try to make sure that everyone is in more than one episode to make it worthwhile for them to come for a recording session. David and I also have a limited time off together and we try to record episodes on the one day we are both at home, he being in charge of recording and I am doing the limited sound effects until Helen and David can add the proper ones.
So, for now we have thirty episodes recorded which keeps us going until April. Our next recording session, if everyone is available, is on 21 December when we should be recording three or more episodes.
I'm enjoying slowly catching up on your series (Just about to listen to episode 4)
I had to record The Archers on Sunday - for my Mother-in-law - which was full of pigs having a good old grunt - I wish I could substitute a middle-ditch tape - and see how long it took before she'd realise - but I've not got the technology to transfer it to tape...
Peter
Feliks, welcome to Middle Ditch. I'm really pleased that you enjoy the serial.
Thank you for visiting and commenting.
Hopping over here to say Hi, cause cant hear as always with kids hahaha!
hope your well :)
Hi Tina, I know what it's like with small children. It's really nice to see you here anyway.
I don't know Monique these just keep getting better. This one was hilarious - I did catch on fairly quickly it was coffins and what a hoot the chair one was!
"Some people don't like to lay down..." - like we have a choice LOL. Kudos on keeping us so entertained!
Janice, I did enjoy writing this one. I'm glad you enjoyed listening to it.
Thanks for the visit.
I so agree with an average patriot and others-this site is so unique I adore it-I am going to listen to one more this eve and hopefully the rest very soon-then perhaps start over and wait for the upcoming episode-cant wait:-)
Devin, thank you for the visit. You are becoming such a fan of this story and that's what keeps me going.
